Dresden Attorney Herron Seriously Injured In Jet Ski Accident

STEWART COUNTY, Tenn.—Dresden Attorney Roy Herron was seriously injured in a Jet Ski accident Saturday. The accident involved two Jet Skis which collided and the driver of the Jet Ski that Herron was riding on also was seriously injured.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency responded to a call about a boating accident on Saturday, July 1, around 3:45 p.m. The accident occurred on Kentucky Lake at Panther Bay. Upon arrival, officers reported two personal watercraft had collided.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Kayla McDonald, age 25, was operating a Yamaha personal watercraft and Peter Fagachugrad, age 24, was operating a SeaDoo personal watercraft when they collided. McDonald and her occupant Roy Herron, age 69, were seriously injured and transported by EMS. TWRA is currently investigating the incident.

Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey said Saturday evening the accident happened at Panther Bay in Stewart County. Henry County EMS transported Herron first to Henry County Medical Center and from there he was reportedly airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Herron has been an attorney in Dresden for years and is a former long-time State Senator and State Representative for our area.
