Major Damage To Vehicles, Minor Injuries In Hwy. 79 Wreck

Buchanan, Tenn.–Minor injuries were reported but both vehicles were totaled after a two-car motor vehicle accident Friday afternoon at the intersection of Bull Durham Rd. and Hwy. 79N in Buchanan.

At approximately 4:30 pm, the Paris Landing Fire Department along with Henry County EMS, Henry County Sheriff’s officers and Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched on a report of a  two-vehicle accident with possible injuries and entrapment at the intersection of Highway 79 and Bull Durham Road in Buchanan.

Paris Landing Fire Chief Reggie Coles said his arriving units found a black Chevrolet pickup truck and a gray Toyota Camry sitting in the median and turning lane.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured while the driver of the car was transported to Henry County Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries, Coles said.  Both vehicles suffered major damage.

Nine firefighters and one Engine were on the scene for 30 minutes.
