Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Tourism Authority Monday approved two upcoming events: The annual Paris Lakeway Kiwanis Arts & Crafts Festival and a ‘Terror in Tennessee” two-day demolition derby.

The Paris Lakeway Kiwanis Club has hosted the Annual Arts and Crafts Festival at Paris Landing State Park for over 20 years, showcasing local and area vendors handcrafting talents. The festival draws from a five-county regional area and will be held September 9-10.

The Tourism Authority approved a payment as requested of $1,500 for promotion of the festival.

The crafts area is available for purchase. Funds generated during the festival are donated to local organizations whose mission is dedicated to the growth and care of children. Historically, they have averaged attendance of over 2,000 per day with increasing attendance year over year. They can accommodate approximately 100 vendors. Many of the vendors from outside Henry County utilize the local hotel, B&B, and camping facilities prior to, during, and after the event.

“Terror in Tennessee” is planned by Wicked Promotions and will be held at the Henry Co. Fairgrounds October 20-October 21. Organizers said over 150 cars are already registered for the event and they come from all over the U.S. and Canada (20 states in the U.S. are already represented).

Tourism Authority members approved a payment of $8,000.
