NASHVILLE – Tennessee State Parks will offer volunteer work events at 38 parks across the state this month for Tennessee Promise scholars to fulfill their community service hours and of those 38 parks, 37 will hold their activities on Saturday, June 24, including Paris Landing State Park.

Are you looking for community service hours or just want to make a difference? Is so, join Paris Landing State Park in a clean-up for Tennessee Promise Saturday at Camp Hazlewood in Buchanan.

They will meet at Camp Hazlewood and clear debris from trails and clean-up the facilities/camping areas, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The park will supply all tools and supplies needed for the clean-up.

Remember to wear appropriate clothing, closed-toed shoes, bug spray, sun screen,  and bring a water bottle/drinks.

If possible please download and fill out our waiver and bring with you.

Tennessee Promise provides students the chance to attend tuition-free any of the state’s community colleges, colleges of applied technology, or other eligible institutions offering an associate degree program. One of the requirements to maintain eligibility is to complete eight hours of community service. The parks also accept help from any other volunteers who wish to participate.
