Ms. Gladys Wallace, 75, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at St. Thomas West, Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born Thursday, September 25, 1947, in Stewart County, Tennessee, the same day President Truman asked Americans to conserve food to lower prices and send supplies to Europe and the day the first Skyhook balloon was launched.
She is the beloved daughter of the late Joe and Mary Ann Harris Stout. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughters: Venessa Coffey, Evelyn Jackson and Mary McCann; and sisters, Elizabeth Whitehead and Essie Perigen.
Gladys had a strong faith in the Lord and was of the Baptist faith.
Gladys worked several years at Nashville Wire.
She enjoyed occasional fishing trips, gardening and putting up her home-grown-vegetables.
She especially loved having her family together.
The companionship of her poodle babies and dressing them up on special occasions held a special joy in her life.
She is survived by her sons; Darrell Wayne Jackson of Dover, TN and Ricky Joe Jackson of Hardin, TN, sister; Geneva Smith of Dover, TN and Rebecca Wolf, who was raised as a sister of WI; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be announced at a later date.
