
McKenzie, Tenn.–Henry Carter, Bethel University’s Assistant Chief of Campus Security, officially retired from Bethel, after nearly 17 years of faithful service to the campus community.
Prior to joining the then-Bethel College security department, Carter worked in armed security at American Ordinance in Milan from 1997 until 2006. In September of 2006, he came to Bethel under the late Chief Harris. He was later promoted to Sergeant and in July 2020 was promoted to Assistant Chief.
Carter and his wife Diane, who also just retired from her teaching position, are retired from the US Army and both are looking forward to going camping and spending more time together with their grandbabies.
