Paris, Tenn.–Ranger Joan Howe from the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge was on hand at the Atkins-Porter Neighborhood Botanical Garden for her Watchable Wildlife program Thursday morning. This week’s topic was ‘Tennessee Mammals’ and she brought pelts of the critters with her to show the kids. Also on hand was Madison Holmes, an intern at the refuge. She’s a recent graduate of the wildlife program at UTM. The program is part of the W.G. Rhea Library’s summer programming for children. Story hour is on Mondays at 10:30 and the Watchable Wildlife is on Thursdays. They are free and open to everyone. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
