Emergency Buckets To Be Placed In Every Obion Co. Schools Classroom

oc-emergen-2

Union City, Tenn.–Thanks to the efforts of Obion County Schools and its SRO’s, emergency buckets will be placed in evey classroom in the school district.
At the beginning of the 22-23 school year, School Resource Officer Supervisor Jonathan Reyna brought his idea of supplying the school district with emergency buckets to Obion County Schools School Health Coordinator Chastity Homra. After a few logistical conversations to decide on what these buckets should include, Homra began to apply for a few grants and Sgt. Reyna began to ask for the donation of supplies.
Lowe’s donated 300 buckets and sealable lids. To help with the purchase of the contents for the buckets, they received a Wal-Mart Community Grant. Wal-Mart also donated $300 in gift cards. Homra was also able to allocate Coordinated School Health Funds to purchase the contents of the buckets.
All 300 emergency buckets were prepared and packed on Monday, June 5, by every SRO in the school district at Obion County Central High School. The buckets include the following: Food tablets, Water, Rags, Trash bags, Tourniquets, Stop-The-Bleed Powder, Feminine Products, Glucose Tablets, Fidget Spinners, Flashlights, Batteries, Whistles, Fire blankets, Toilet Powder, First Aid Kits, Hand Sanitizer, and Hand Fans.
