Mrs. Shirley Allen Davis, 86, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Henry County Healthcare Center.
Shirley Jean Allen Davis was born October 18, 1936 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Mont C. Allen and the late Lucy Brown Mathis Allen. She married Charles A. Davis on February 20, 1955 and he preceded her in death July 29, 2012. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kim (Jim) Adams of Springville; son, Jeff Davis of Springville; grandchildren, Kevin Adams, Ashley Stafford, Brittany Burton, and Shayla Knight; great grandchildren, Lexi Adams, Chase Adams, Lucas Adams, Ava Stafford, Karson Stafford, Rylan Burton, Michael Davis, Lathan Holland, Nolan Burton, Adalynn Burton, Colton Knight, and Hayden Knight; great great grandchildren, Colson Adams and Channing Adams; sisters, Flossie Howard of Springville, Nelda (Mack) Ray of Paris, Texas; brothers, Johnny (Marianne) Allen of Paris, and Ronnie Allen of Springville; also by numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Shirley is also preceded in death by her daughter in law, Gayla Davis (prec. June 14, 2015); sister, Elizabeth Ann Rand; brother, Donald “Duck” Allen (prec. 2010); and sister in law, Ann Allen (prec. 2021).
Mrs. Davis was a longtime member of the Springville Church of Christ. Shirley enjoyed her church family as well as her own family and most especially loved getting together with all of them.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Springville Church of Christ with Charles Cate and Brandon Clenny to officiate. Named as pallbearers are Tony Wade, Mark Wade, Tucker Wade, Keith Allen, Zack Wade, and Jason Ray. Burial will follow the service in the Elkhorn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home, then on Saturday after 1:00 P.M. until the service at 2:00 P.M. at the Springville Church of Christ.
