For the first time in Weakley County’s history, it has produced a State Champion in Softball. The Lady Chargers of Westview captured the school’s and county’s first ever State Title in softball on Friday afternoon. The Lady Chargers capped off a dominant State Tournament run with a 13-5 win over Forrest in Friday’s championship game to bring home the gold. McCall Simms put an exclamation point on the victory by blasting 2 grand slams in the win to help her own pitching cause. The State Championship caps off a 29-10 season for the Lady Chargers.
