Union City, Tenn.–Another great group of Golden Tornadoes is well on its way.

Union City Elementary School held Pre-K graduation ceremonies recently, celebrating six enthusiastic classes of students who are completing their first year of schooling in the UC System.

Administration, staff, and families turned out in record numbers to celebrate the occasion.

The growing Pre-K program filled six classes for the first time ever, and each student was presented a certificate of completion by UC Director of Schools Wes Kennedy.

Director of Teachers and Learning Rene Flood welcomed the large audience to the celebration before UCES music teacher Katie Tohn led the 3- and 4-year-old classes in singing their favorite nursery rhymes and multi-cultural popular tunes.

Families and friends were able to capture the occasion with many photos of their child’s class, special friends, and teachers afterward.

“What a magical time to see the growth of these young students from where they began the year,” Flood said. “Their enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, and desire to do their best give us great hope for our future.”
