MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin will be represented at next week’s NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships East First Round as Darius Holland qualified in the men’s long jump.
The East First Round is scheduled for May 24-27 and will be hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The qualifiers out of the region will advance to compete in the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 7-10 in Austin, Texas.
Holland, a junior from Ripley, Tenn., is the first player in program history to qualify for a pair of NCAA regionals after also earning a spot in the 2021 field. He qualified for the championship event after setting a school record in the men’s long jump with a distance of 7.57m at the OVC Outdoor Championship last week. He enters the East First Round seeded 38th.
Competition for the long jump is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, May 24.
