McKenzie, Tenn.–As you drive through downtown McKenzie, you’ll notice something new. The first downtown mural is complete and it shows the history of the 154-year-old town in colorful highlights. Allison Bowers of Gleason was commissioned to paint the mural, which Mayor Ryan Griffin said will be the first of several. With the words “Welcome To 38201 McKenzie, Tennessee”, the mural spotlights several themes that contribute to the history, including the railroad, McKenzie Schools, McKenzie Rebels, Bethel University the Park Theatre, Webb School, te downtown gazebo and local music.
