Paris, Tenn.–The Industrial Maintenance/Integrated Automation program at TCAT Henry/Carroll is now offering industry certifications from the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3). In the past year, the program has undergone some restructure and has had new equipment added in the pursuit of continuous improvement. The process starts with the instructor becoming certified on that equipment by attending Train-The-Trainer events where knowledge of specific technologies is taught and/or verified.
Upon completion, the instructor can then certify the students in the classroom. These NC3 certifications go hand-in-hand with the TCAT requirements for the certificate levels earned in each respective trimester of attendance. Certifications currently available are Fundamentals of DC, Fundamentals of AC, Fundamentals of Hydraulics, and Fundamentals of Pneumatics. Upon completion of an event this summer by Instructor Jeff Presson, Applied Motor Controls will be added to this list.
Earning one or more certifications in their respective areas are full-time students Zeke Blackwell, Raleigh Blackwell, Tina Blackwell, Chris McCurdy, Mikayla Brawner, Michael Decker, Conner Hollingsworth, Warren Medley, Beau Mitchell, Grant Robison, Adam Wigley, and Brady Cox. Also earning certifications are Dual-Enrollment students Bo Baker, Steven Holland, and Gavyn Raney.
