Barbara Compton, 73, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Tennova Healthcare Hospital.
She was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, Friday, April 14, 1950, the beloved daughter of the late Allen Wright and Helen Simmons. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Don Compton; brothers: Bruce Wright and Gene Wright.
Barbara retired from the Stewart County School System as an Educational Assistant.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a true friend to many.
She is survived by her daughters.: Anne Hackney (Walter), of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Deanna Graham (Brennan), of Indian Mound, Tennessee; brother: Dwayne Simmons, of Woodlawn, Tennessee; sister: Kathy Dennis (Bobby), of Big Rock, Tennessee; grandchildren: Andrea Alleman, Tyler Hackney, Issac Ross and Colton Ross; great-grandchildren: Alyssa Pittman, Leighann Alleman and Johnny Hackney.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at Anglin Funeral Home and will continue Tuesday, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Anglin Funeral Home, with Brian Grasty officiating, and burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
