Union City, Tenn.–The Union City High School band celebrated another stellar school year Thursday with a banquet that honored both seniors and individual standouts.
Longtime director Jason Deem handed out several accolades and recognized 18 seniors from this year’s version of ‘Purple People.’
Highlights of the band’s season included:
- Bringing home a number of awards from several West Tennessee competitions.
- A stirring performance in the Bands of America Super Regional in Indianapolis.
- Marching at Disney World in Orlando in early January.
- Completed all requirements for the Tennessee Bandmaster Association Sweepstakes Award that is given to bands that score Superior Ratings for marching band and concert band.
