Knoxville, Tenn.–Long-time Paris Veterinarian Dr. Chuck Lyons was honored as the Outstanding Alumni for the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine at the recent graduation ceremonies at UT Knoxville.
Dr. Lyons founded the Mineral Wells Animal Clinic in Paris and retired in 2021 after a lengthy career. He continues to work at the clinic on a reduced work load.
Family members attended the ceremony with Dr. Lyons.
The Commencement and Hooding Ceremony for the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine’s Class of 2023 was held Saturday, May 6.
Dr. Andrew Cushing, Clinical Associate Professor of Zoo Animal Medicine at the College, was the commencement speaker. Hayley Dixon and Kaysha Rodriguez Avila delivered the Class of 2023 remarks. Dr. Claudia Kirk served as the faculty standard bearer and Dr. Rachel Fladung and Dr. Stephanie Steuri were the marshals.
Seventy-eight students graduated with the Class of 2023.
