Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey said a check of the vehicle which was found submerged in Kentucky Lake Tuesday determined it was stolen in 1991.
The car, a 1984 Chevrolet Camero, was pulled from the lake Tuesday after a tip from fishermen that a vehicle might be underwater.
Frey said a check of the car’s vehicle identification number determined it was stolen in 1991 from Scott’s Auto in Henry County. “The investigation is now closed,” he said.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office thanked the fishermen that first reported seeing the vehicle, along with the multiple agencies which assisted in the search and recovery of the vehicle, Frey said.
