
Springville, Tenn.–In an afternoon update, Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey said the car has now been pulled competely out of the water and there are no victims inside.
Multiple agencies have been at the Springville pump house all day today and Frey said the car appears to be an early 90’s model red Chevrolet Camero. Once removed from the water the vehicle was checked for any victims in the car and any other evidence that might be present. No victims were located and the vehicle has been towed to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
He also provided background for the public on what led to the search for the submerged vehicle.
On Saturday, April 22, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and TWRA received a report from a fisherman that a vehicle had been possibly spotted using a live scope image on his boat. Officers with both agencies responded to the scene and viewed the images.
Frey said, “It was determined at that time that the images could be that of a car.” On Monday, April 24, TWRA used underwater sonar to check the area again and it was determined then the images appeared to be that of a vehicle.
Today, a dive team from the Braden Fire Department came to the scene to assist, Frey said. “Once divers entered the water, they were able to locate the vehicle and with the help of Denton’s Towing the car was recovered from the water.
The car appears to be an early 90’s model red Chevrolet Camaro. Once removed from the water the vehicle was checked for any victims in the car and any other evidence that might be present. No victims were located and the vehicle has been towed to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
