Dover, Tenn.–One firefighter was transported to the hospital at a massive fire at a sawmill in Stewart County Wednesday.
The Mathis Brothers Sawmill on Hwy. 49 was heavily damaged in the blaze. Stewart County Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the fire at 11:20 a.m. The fire started in a shop behind the main part of the sawmill near Albert Glasgow road, according to Fire & Rescue.
Firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the fire. One firefighter was taken to hospital with a heat related illness. No civilian injuries were reported. They thanked Montgomery County Fire Service, Dover Police & Fire Department / Dover TN, Houston County, TN Fire Department, and City of Tennessee Ridge Fire Department for providing mutual aid.
