Paris Couple Jailed On Drug, Weapons Charges

Paris, Tenn.–A search warrant conducted Friday night April 14th by Investigators with the Paris Police Narcotics unit has landed two Henry County residents in jail with numerous charges. 

Assistant Police Chief Ean Reed said investigators received information about illegal drugs on property located on Highway 641 S and drew up the search warrant based from that information.  While conducting the search of the property officers found nearly a half ounce of methamphetamine, marijuana that had been bagged for resale, pills identified as oxycodone-hydrochloride that had been packaged for resale, two firearms, and several items identified as drug paraphernalia.  Investigators seized $210 in alleged drug proceeds.

Arrested at the scene were Clifford J. Brogdon, age 42 and Mandy J. Mercer, age 21 both of Paris.  Brogdon was charged with three felony counts of Possession with the intent to resale, manufacture, or deliver, one count of possession of a weapon during commission of a dangerous felony, and one count of drug paraphernalia.  Mercer was charged with two misdemeanor counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia.

Chief Ricky Watson thanked the officers of the Paris Police department as well as the officers of the Henry County Sheriff’s department “who work diligently to take these dangerous narcotics off of the streets of Paris and Henry County.”
