
Martin, Tenn.–A Martin man was arrested following an incident in which shots were fired toward a vehicle days before.
Nicholas S. Williams, age 25, was charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Possession, Prohibited Weapons, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Carrying/Possession of a Weapon. He will be arraigned in Weakley County General Sessions Court today.
On April 10 at 8:10am, officers from the Martin Police Department spoke to a subject in the lobby of the police station pertaining to an incident that had occurred earlier that morning as the subject was traveling by the intersection of Old Fulton Rd. and Lakeview Circle. She said an unknown subject had fired three shots from some type of handgun toward her vehicle. No one was injured during this incident.
According to Assistant Police Chief Phillip Fuqua, the Criminal Investigations Division later discovered probable cause that the subject that had fired those shots was Nicholas S. Williams, who resides at 42 Lakeview Circle in Martin.
Investigators also discovered that the offender had two active arrest warrants from Gibson County for unrelated offenses. Investigators secured a search warrant for 42 Lakeview Circle and it was executed on 04/12/2023 at 1:34pm. The offender was located inside the residence and was taken into custody without incident. A search of the residence revealed a small amount of marijuana, digital scales and a Ruger .22 caliber rifle with the buttstock sawed off, serial numbers altered and the barrel shortened. Several rounds of ammunition and magazines were also located. The offender has been previously convicted of domestic assault and is forbidden by law to possess a firearm.
