PARIS, Tenn. – Two Bethel University student-athletes were honored and presented scholarships Wednesday by the Peppers Automotive Group in Paris.

Peppers is a supporter of Bethel and a Game Day sponsor of Bethel’s Football Homecoming. The group is also a sponsor of Bethel golf.

Tessa Myers, a freshman from Hendersonville Beech High School, was the recipient of the women’s scholarship. Coach Larry Joe Smith said, “Tessa carried an 82 average in her first semester of college golf. She is an outstanding representative and spokesperson for Wildcat Women’s golf.”

Isaac Holley, a junior from Dickson, was the recipient on the men’s side. Isaac is in his fourth year as a member of the men’s golf team. Coach John Austin said, “His hard work and determination have helped Isaac improve each year he has been a part of the program. He is well-deserving of this scholarship.”

Ryan Peppers, Daron Harrison, Adam Matheny and Kenny McBride represented the Peppers Group.

Bethel Vice-President of Development and Marketing Dr. Kimberly Martin, Bethel Senior Athletic Director Brad Chappell, Bethel coaches Smith and Austin, Bethel Cheer team members Latrelle Foster and Breanna Rood along with Bethel mascot Rowdy were on hand representing the Wildcats.

Chappell said, “Peppers Ford in McKenzie has been such a good partner for Bethel Athletics. We certainly appreciate their involvement and interest in the success of our student-athletes. Daron and Ryan truly understand the value of investing in the local community and higher education.”
