Paris, TN – Paris-Henry County Clinic hosted a ribbon cutting on Friday to celebrate its official opening under the ownership of Henry County Medical Center. Hospital board members, Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce members, and staff from the clinic and hospital were on hand.
Hospital CEO John Tucker said the opportunity to acquire the clinic was one that the hospital could not pass up. “Late last fall, Dr. (Terry) Harrison approached us about affiliating with the hospital and we were excited to hear that. Our hospital needs to be more involved in primary care because we’re not all that involved in primary care right now. This will give us the vehicle to do that.”
The process to bring the two healthcare providers together has taken more than three months, but it all has gone very well, according to Karen Boase, HCMC Director of Physician Practices.
“The team at Paris Henry County Clinic has been really great during this onboarding process,” she said. “They have been very cooperative and we are so excited to be partnering with them.”
Boase said, “The patients can expect to see the same staff as they always have. At some point, we’ll add additional staff and possibly extend our hours to nights and weekends.”
Continuing the same care and service to existing and new patients was the main objective during the transition. Said Annie Kate Massey, “Change is always a little stressful, but it’s exciting. We look forward to being able to continue what we’ve been doing for our patients.”
Originally, H&M Clinic, the clinic took on the name Paris-Henry County Clinic on July 1, 2000.
