Paris, Tenn.–Following in the tradition of the past Sesquicentennial and Centennial celebrations for Paris and Henry County, the Paris-Henry County Bicentennial Committee will be hosting a beard-growing contest.
Contest winners will be named at the Bicentennial’s grand finale event, set for September 30 in downtown Paris.
Committee Vice Chairperson Jackie Jones said entry in the contest is easy. “All you have to do is grow a beard and show up on September 30 for the celebration on the north side of the courthouse.”
She noted, “We’re giving everybody time so they can grow some really good beards before September”.
The specific time for the event and contest categories are still being planned.
Some of the suggestions for categories that the Committee has received so far include: longest beard, grayest, reddest, scraggliest, and curliest. Anyone who has other suggestions for categories can leave a message for Jackie Jones at Paris City Hall.
