Greenfield, Tenn.–A Greenfield woman perished in an early-morning house fire.
Greenfield Fire Chief Bob Dudley said the female victim was found in the living room. The fire department was called to the structure fire at 104 Jackson St. around 2:30 a.m. A preliminary investigation determined the fire was caused by a space heater being situated too close to combustibles. The victim was on oxygen.
Dudley voiced “our deep appreciation” to the Sharon Fire Department, Weakley County 911, Weakley County EMS and the Greenfield Police for their assistance. “Please keep the family and all first responders in your prayers,” he said.
The fire was contained to the living room.
