A reminder:

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will host a public meeting Thursday, April 6, 2023, to gather public input on the proposed new alignment of  Hwy. 641 N from near Howard Road to the Kentucky state line. The meeting will be held from p.m. until p.m. at Harrelson School at 143 Puryear Country Club Rd.

Thursday’s meeting of the Paris City Commission has been changed from 5 p.m. to 4 p.m. to allow members to attend the TDOT session.

According to the public notice, the proposed project will construct a segment of Hwy. 641N from near Howard Road to the Kentucky state line on new alignment to tie to the ongoing transportation project in Kentucky, west of Hazel, KY.  This project will construct a three-lane facility on five-lane right-of-way which includes a center two-way left turn lane.  The meeting is being held to provide the public an opportunity to provide comments regarding this project.

Representatives of TDOT will be available to provide information on various aspects of this proposed project.

Hwy. 641 eventually will be widened from Paris to Murray. The project bypasses downtown Hazel. The Kentucky portion is near to completion.
