
Mansfield, Tenn.–A man lost his life when a tree fell on him Saturday morning in the Mansfield area.
The Henry Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 800 Block of Haglersville Rd. in Mansfield at 10 a.m. on a report of a tree that had fallen on someone.
Engine 2 responded to the scene with eight firefighters to find one unresponsive patient on a tractor with a tree on him. A passerby had reported the accident.
Henry County EMS contacted the death investigator(s) who pronounced the patient deceased at the scene.
Once the scene was released by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Henry Volunteer Fire team worked to extricate the patient. Officials said, “Initial indications suggest that the operator of the tractor was attempting to remove the fallen tree from the road when the accident occurred, resulting in the tree striking the patient.”
The deceased’s name has not been publicly released.
Also on scene was Henry County Sheriffs Office, Henry County EMS, Henry County Coroners Office, Mansfield Fire Department, and Paris Henry County Rescue Squad.
