Paris, Tenn.–Retired Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Lt. Steve Dean was honored with the Loyal Patriot Award, the highest award that can be bestowed on a county citizen, at Monday night’s meeting of the Henry County Commission.
With a smiling Sheriff Josh Frey looking on, County Mayor John Penn Ridgeway congratulated Lt. Dean on his recent retirement and commended him on his 22 years of service to the county.
Also at Monday night’s meeting, Ridgeway presented Commissioner Greg Carter with a framed photograph of the courthouse and a gift basket on Carter’s resignation from the commission. The commission also outlined the procedure that will be followed for a special election to fill the District 5 position. The special election will be held at the next commission meeting Monday, April 17. Persons interested in the position need to contact the commission office with a resume or letter of introduction by Monday, April 10. Candidates for the position must attend the April 17 meeting and will be asked to make a five-minute presentation outlining their reasons for wanting the position before the commission votes.
