Dresden, Tenn.–It takes more than a tornado to keep the Kountry Korner down.
It’s been a long 465 days, but the Kountry Korner has reopened following the tornado that destroyed the convenience store and restaurant, along with other numerous other businesses and government offices in Dresden in 2021.
The first customer Monday morning was Trent Adams, who was waited on by Lee Ann McCoy, a familiar face to patrons of the business. The first customer at the restaurant was Jo Gillamore.
The restaurant has reopened with its ‘meat-and-three’ daily menu, salad bar and desserts made from scratch.
Kountry Korner owners said, “We want to thank everyone who helped us, our faithful employees and the support of the community to make this day possible. Thanks everyone for your patience today. We had some hiccups with some of your orders coming out too slow. We are training several new folks in the kitchen as some of our more experienced folks that we paid all year did not come back to work as promised. We will strive to do better each day and get our service level back to what you expect. We are very thankful that our community has supported us all this time. We appreciate the more than expected turn out that we had today!”
The Kountry Korner is located at 9308 Hwy. 22, in Dresden.
