Paris, Tenn.–A collision involving three vehicles –including a semi and a logging truck –claimed the lives of two people Friday morning.
The accident occurred at 10:18 a.m. on Hwy. 641 N near the Rowe School Rd. intersection and shut down 641 both ways for most of the day Friday.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, Jason Charland, age 38, and his passenger, Patricia Charland, age 32, were killed in the accident. They were driving in a 1998 Kenworth Tractor Trailer. Jason Charland was the driver of that vehicle. The THP report states both were from Tennessee, but does not specify a town or county.
One of the other drivers was injured in the crash–Terrence Creech, age 56, of Georgia. Creech was driving a 2023 Freightliner Tractor Trailer. He was trapped in the vehicle and was airlifted to an area hospital from the scene.
Harry Walker, age 86, of Tennessee, was driving a 2014 Nissan Fontier. He was not injured. The THP report indicates that charges are pending the results of the investigation. The THP report does not indicate the city where he is from.
According to the THP report, all of those involved in the accident were wearing their seat belts.
Details in the preliminary report were still sketchy and states that all three were driving on Hwy. 641N at the time of the collision. It also states that other vehicles sustained damage from the collision.
