MARTIN, Tenn.- The University of Tennessee at Martin’s WestStar Leadership Program, along with Alex Beene, assistant coordinator for the State of Tennessee, hosted the ALStar African American Youth Leadership Summit at the West Tennessee Agriculture Research and Education Center in Jackson. The summit provided an opportunity for African American high school sophomores in West Tennessee to learn from businessmen and women from varying fields of study. Students who attended from Henry County High School are Akeeviah Atkinson, Jakari Ray, Izyia Montgomery, Bianca Leary and Amarri Coats. Students that attended from South Fulton High School include Shay Lowery, Jalivia Coble and Neveah Quinn. Students that attended from Union City High School include Jamarious Abbott, Allysia Davis, Debrionna Jones, Katavious Richardson and Kelan Roberson.
