
Union City, Tenn.–Obion County Mayor Steve Carr has announced the good news that the Tennessee Department of Transportation, (TDOT) has confirmed that Highway 22 West (Old Lake Road) is going to be resurfaced this year.
Carr said, “This will be a major renovation project which will include grinding out the existing pavement, installing a new firm road bed, and laying a new smooth layer of asphalt with wider shoulders. In addition to this wonderful news is the announcement that we will also share in the allocation of $300 million to be shared with other counties across the state to use for State Aid Road improvements.”
Finally, Carr said, there will also be a $3 Billion allocation to be used for state highway improvements across Tennessee.
“This is truly awesome news for Obion County and Tennessee”, Carr said.
