Paris, Tenn.–It was standing room only for Thursday night’s presentation on “Murder & Moonshine” at the Old 23rd District. The program was presented by Susan “Ski” Witzofsky at the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center. The evening was sponsored by the Henry County Genealogy Society. Witzofsky spoke on the history of the Old 23rd and some of the notorious murders that had occured there. She noted that more often than not, the deaths “were pretty much related to alcohol–or women–or both,” she said. “Alcohol talks. And guns do, too.” Shannon McFarlin photo.
