MARTIN, Tenn. – Brandon Orr and Donnie Walton, both of Obion County, were selected to participate in the University of Tennessee at Martin’s WestStar Leadership Program Class of 2023.
Orr is the area director in West Tennessee for USDA Rural Development. He serves on the Obion County Youth Sports League and is the president of the Baseball Board of Directors. He is also an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Orr says that participating in WestStar will be a great opportunity to learn about the potential that is in West Tennessee.
Walton is the vice president and loan officer for Commercial Bank and Trust Company in Union City. He is an active Rotarian and a Leadership Obion County graduate. He has served his community by being a county commissioner and the president of the Obion County Chamber of Commerce. Walton hopes to expand his network of colleagues and gain a broader perspective of what West Tennessee has to offer.
The WestStar Leadership Program was founded at UT Martin in 1989 and is the state’s oldest and largest regional leadership program. The program equips regional leaders with new skills and knowledge designed to impact the education, economic and social development of West Tennessee. The program also provides members with a growing network of community-minded people committed to serving the area.
