Eva Lane Freeland Whitmer, 78, of Buchanan, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at her residence following a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones.
Eva Lane Freeland Whitmer was born Saturday, October 28, 1944, in Buchanan, Tennessee, to the late Mason Noel Freeland and the late Wilby Lee Murphy Freeland.
Mrs. Whitmer was a lifetime member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Buchanan. She enjoyed interior designing and being a homemaker.
She married Raymond Thomas Whitmer, and he preceded her in death in 2017.
Eva Lane is survived by her daughters: Bridget Renee Anderson and Stephanie Dawn Wyatt, both of Nashville; and by a brother: Jim W. Freeland, of Benton, Kentucky. Besides her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by two brothers: Michael R. Freeland and Randy Freeland.
Her body is to be cremated and a memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike White officiating. A private family burial is to follow later in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
Because of her love of animals, the family requests in lieu of flowers those memorials be made to ASPCA.
