Big Sandy Woman Held On $250,000 Bond In Son’s Drowning Death

Big Sandy, Tenn.–A Big Sandy woman has been indicted in the drowning death of her two-year-old son and is being held on $250,000 bond in the Benton County Jail.

Savannah Jo Fritts, age 35, was indicted by the Benton County Grand Jury.

The little boy drowned in 2022. He was found floating face down in the family’s above ground pool in June of 2022. CPR was performed by the family and emergency personnel, but the boy could not be revived.

The grand jury issued three indictments against Fritts. She was charged with criminally negligent homicide and two counts of aggravated child endangerment.

Afte her arrest, Circuit Court Judge Bruce Griffey set Fritts’ bond at $250,000 dollars.

According to the indictments, Fitts was under the influence of multiple controlled substances on the date of her son’s death and left her son unsupervised near the pool.
