Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is receiving reports that citizens are receiving phone calls from a person identifying themselves as an officer with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
The caller is using the name of an actual HCSO officer. The caller is telling people that they have a warrant for their arrest and advising them to send money to a Venmo or Zelle account to keep them from being arrested.
This is a scam. Do not send any money to these people. HCSO does not call people and tell them to send money. If you receive one of these calls and are given an Vemo, Zelle etc account number to put money in please notify the HCSO Criminal Investigations Division at 731-642-1672.
