BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field program traveled to Gladstein Fieldhouse for the Hoosier Hills Invitational on Friday for the squad’s final tune-up prior to the conference championship later this month.
The Skyhawks recorded several personal-bests in the contest while being well represented in numerous event finals.
Notable Performances
- Graduate distance specialist Luke McNair earned an event victory in the men’s mile run with a time of 4:13.67. His time ranked the fastest among three other Skyhawk performers and five OVC competitors.
- Sophomore Hudson Hall came in third in the men’s mile run with a time of 4:15.92 while setting a new PR.
- Freshman Ja’Kobe Ward had another impressive meet, finishing second in the qualifying round of the men’s 60m hurdles with a time of 8.35 seconds for a new PR.
- Senior Jack Blyth notched a new PR in the men’s 800m run with a time of 1:58.52 for a third-place finish.
- Redshirt-freshman Lydia Tankersley set a pair of new PRs in both the women’s 600m and mile run. Tankersley posted a time of 1:39.77 in the 600m while recording a mark of 5:00.84 in the mile.
- Freshman D’Ambrah Watts set a new PR in the women’s 60m hurdles with a time of 9.57 seconds.
- Freshman Maggie Roy ran to a runner-up finish in the women’s 800m with a PR time of 2:20.79.
- Junior Cierra Nord recorded a new PR in the women’s 3k, finishing ninth overall with a time of 10:53.68.
UT Martin will take a week off to focus on its training leading up to the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship in Birmingham, Ala. from Feb. 22-23
