Anna Evans: First Female Eagle Scout In West Tennessee Area Council

Paris, Tenn.–The first female Eagle Scout in the West Tennessee Area Council was sworn in at a ceremony Sunday.

Anna Evans is the first female Eagle Scout in Troop 3 in Paris and in the entire West Tennessee Area Council. The well-attended ceremony was held at the First United Methodist Church in Paris.

Anna is a Senior at Henry County High School, where she is enrolled in the Clinical InternshipNursing Program. Her Scoutmaster Kathy Steele said Anna plans to attend TCAT and continue her educationin their nursing program to earn her LPN.

Steele said, “Anna has worked hard to earn her Eagle. She has held Senior Patrol and Assistant Senior Patrol leader during her time in the Troop. She is the Honor Society in the BSA as an Order of the Arrow Ordeal member. She is also a member of Venture Crew 308.

While working on her Eagle Scout project, Anna also coordinated the installation of the new Osprey nest platforms at the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge.
Also over the weekend, Kathy Steele was named Scoutmaster of the year for the Tennessee River District at a ceremony at Camp Mack Morris.
