Paris, Tenn.–With the $10,366 raised Friday, the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction is inching closer and closer to the $250,000 mark.

So far, the grand total raised is $242,034.

On Saturday, there will be two auctions with First United Methodist Church and it’s a sure bet that those donations will go over the $250,000 mark at that time. Saturday’s afternoon auction will start at noon, with the evening auction to begin at 6 p.m. The afternoon auction will be broadcast, while the evening auction is an in-house auction and won’t be on the air.

Friday’s auctioneer was Andy Collins, with the Paris Rotary Club manning the phones. Friday’s items were donated by the Paris Soccer Club, Henry Co. Cemetery Committee, Henry County Archives, Henry County Genealogical Society and Henry County Chamber Music Society.

On Saturday, items will be donated by First United Methodist Church at both afternoon and evening auctions.

Helping Hand raises thousands of dollars each year for over 80 non-profit and public service groups. It started January 9 and runs through March 1. Helping Hand is known for unique and homemade items which often raise large sums.
