Nashville, Tenn.–It was a history-making night for the Tennessee State University Marching Band at the Grammys Sunday night.
Nashville Mayor John Cooper issued a statement after the win: “A huge congratulations to the Tennessee State University Aristocrat of Bands for winning a Grammy award tonight for Best Roots Gospel Album. An historic win for Tennessee State University and all involved! This recognition makes them the first collegiate Marching Band to receive a Grammy.”
A Grammy watch party was held in the TSU Student Center.
