Paris, Tenn.–Shannon Bomar and his family voiced their appreciation for everyone involved in the planning and coordinating of Saturday’s benefit for he and his family. Some 1,000 people were in attendance at the fund-raising event, which included a meal, live bands and a silent and live auction.

Bomar suffered a brain aneuryism and is looking at a lengthy recovery. He is Assistant Fire Chief at the Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department, reserve deputy with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and surgical nurse at HCMC. He also is a deacon at the Springhill Baptist Church.

Bomar was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center and is home now recovery. He was actually able to attend the event and said on his Facebook page, “We would like to express our appreciation for everyone who had a part in the benefit for me, Christy, and Hugh last night. Last night was truly a humbling experience for us, being able to see so many people show up, just to support us during a difficult time. It was overwhelming to receive so much support from so many in our community and surrounding areas. It’s an amazing gift to have so many friends love on you in a time of need. There are so many people who made last night possible that I could never name them all. To those who coordinated the event, those who donated, cooked, entertained, auctioned, volunteered as helpers, set up, cleaned, served, and a million other tasks, please know that we can NEVER thank you enough………NEVER!”

Bomar said, “Henry County is a special place, like no other, showing love in remarkable ways when it’s needed most. Again, a simple “thank you” is not enough, but it’s all I have. So……THANK YOU from the bottom of our heart!”
