
Dresden, Tenn.–A Dresden man is facing charges including theft of a Weakley County ambulance, with which he led law enforcement on a lengthy chase through several towns, later crashing into a Gibson County sheriff’s cruiser.
Kaine Winston, age 28, is being held at the Gibson County Jail on $150,000 bond.
The incident began at 1:30 a.m. Friday, February 3 when the Weakley County Ambulance Service was dispatched to a home to deal with a behavior issue with an individual. While speaking with him, he broke out a window of the residence, ran off and drove off in their ambulance.
According to the report, Winston drove the ambulance through Dresden, Martin, Sharon and Greenfield and entered Gibson County.
Gibson County officers located the ambulance driving on U.S. 45 and another pursuit of the ambulance began, at which point Winston reportedly crashed it into a Gibson County sheriff’s cruiser.
He was found at the entrance of the West Tennessee Health Care emergency room in Milan, where he was taken into custody.
