Paris, Tenn.–It was a day for the record books at the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction today.

With the $33,000 raised today at the auction, the unofficial grand total for the year is now at $106,416.

It’s the earliest in the annual auction that the $100,000 mark has been reached and the $33,000 raised today is one of the highest daily totals ever in the history of the auction. The auction, which began in 1978, raises thousands of dollars each year for over 80 non-profit organizations.

Today’s items were donated by Security Bank, White & Associates and Wimberley Agency, for a total of 18 slates on the auction block today. Bids today were HIGH and the phones were busy all afternoon with bids.

Auctioneers were Andy Collins and Darrin Thompson, with Amy Veazey as guest auctioneer.

The auction runs for two months, ending on March 1.
