Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction had a great day Saturday to close out a great first week.

With $20,000 raised Saturday, the grand total raised so far this year is at $67,392. With a small army of volunteers, Helping Hand raises thousands of dollars each year for over 80 non-profit and public service groups.

The always reliable Pleasant Hill community really stepped up to the plate, donating dozens and dozens of items, from chicken dinners, fied pies, pot roast, coffee cake, a wide array of pies and cakes, plus four of Steve Trask’s famous rib dinners.

Bids were high through Saturday’s auction, with a donation of $1,453 coming in during the closing moments to make it an even $20,000 raised.

Auctioneer was Junior Staggs, with the Women’s Business and Professional group manning the phones.

Monday’s items will be donated by: W.G. Rhea Library, Arts Council, Trinity United Methodist Church and Master Gardeners.

The auction runs for two months, ending on March 1.
You can listen to all the action on our stations at 104.7FM or 1000AM (WHNY “Big Henry”) or you can listen on our website at www.radionnwtn.com. You can bid over the phone or in person at the Paris Convention Center.
