Dover, Tenn.–A Clarksville man was arrested on drug charges in the Stewat County Courthouse parking lot. 60-year-old Everett Freeze told deputies he was there to meet with his probation officer. Meth and hydrocodone pills were hidden in the battery box of the vehicle, according to the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday January 4th, Stewart County Sgt. Aaron Page observed a man pulling into a parking space to the rear of the courthouse. Sgt. Page had prior knowledge that the man driving had a revoked license.

When he approached the vehicle the driver told Sgt. Page that he was there to meet with his probation officer. After talking with the man further, Sgt. Page had a suspicion that drugs were present. When he asked the driver he was given permission to search the vehicle.

A search of the inside of the vehicle and the trunk did not turn up any drugs. When he asked the man to empty his pockets, a meth pipe was found.

According to Sheriff Frankie Gray, Sgt. Page was not convinced that there were no drugs in the vehicle. He raised the hood of the vehicle found two containers wrapped in black tape in the battery box. One container held a small bag of meth and hydrocodone pills the other container had over half ounce of meth.

Gray said, Needless to say the man did not make his appointment with his probation officer.”
