Mrs. Lynda Joy Hicklen, 75, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Murray Calloway County Hospital.
She was born Saturday, July 5, 1947, in Blanche, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Ernest Raymond Franklin, Jr. and Evangeline Fowler Franklin Parkes.
Lynda was an avid gardener, she loved to travel with her friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dover and worked as a secretary for Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years: Jimmy Dale Hicklen.
She is survived by her brothers: Ronnie Franklin, of Huntsville, Alabama, Billy Franklin, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, and Timothy Franklin, of Hokes Bluff, Alabama; sisters: Barbara Ann Crawford, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, Cynthia Renee Parton, of Hazel Green, Alabama; brother-in-law: Bruce Hicklen, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and sister-in-law: Faye Shannon, of Andmore, Alabama.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Dover, with Bro. Steven Head officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church.
Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama. Pallbearers will be the First Baptist Church of Dover Deacons.
