Jason “Cornbred” Parker

Jason “Cornbred” Parker, 50, of Springville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jason was born February 28, 1972, in Camden, Tennessee, to the late Thomas Parker and Janie Chandler McKenzie, who survives, of Springville, Tennessee.

Jason “Cornbred” was formerly a superintendent in construction for Lashlee-Rich Construction.  He was a longtime baseball coach for Little League and travel baseball.  He enjoyed music, working with his hands, playing the harmonica, and making others feel good.

Along with his mother, he is also survived by his wife, of 35 years: Shannon Bucy Parker, of Springville, Tennessee; one son: Jesse “Bubba” Parker, of Springville, Tennessee; one daughter: Jaden “Lulu” Parker, of Puryear, Tennessee; one brother: Curtis (Teresa) Parker, of Puryear, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Jake Parker, Jaren Parker, Emily Parker and Gracie Coltrane; his mother-in-law: Dianne Bucy, of Paris, Tennessee; step mother-in-law: Tamela Bucy, of Cotton Town, Tennessee; and many friends who he called brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by one brother: Tony Parker.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./ P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242, will be handling the arrangements.  

Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Ridgeway Funeral Home, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., and continues Friday, December 30, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Nelson Creek Christ Chapel, 2155 India Road, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.  The funeral service will be Friday, December 30, 2022, at 1:00 pm Nelson Creek Christ Chapel with Patricia Todd officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Baucum, Seth Parker, Cody Bonifas, Drew Stewart, Nick Stewart, Jerry “Stutz” Stutzman, Joseph Walker, Bryce Walker, and Mark Chandler.

The burial will be in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.
