After opening for a short time this morning, the Cave-in-Rock Ferry is again closed due to weather conditions.
The metal ramps used to dock the ferry for loading and unloading are iced over. As the ferry crew started making runs this morning it became apparent that the ice creates a hazard for vehicles attempting to board the ferry.
The Cave-In-Rock Ferry is closed until further notice. It is likely to remain closed for a couple of days until temperatures stay above freezing long enough to melt the accumulated ice.
The Cave-in-Rock Ferry will attempt to provide timely notice when service is able to resume.
